The Start of a Revolution

On Thursday, January 18th, 2007, Hype1.com was invited to the grand opening of the Revolution Lounge located inside of the Mirage Hotel and Casino.
Revolution Lounge was created in conjunction with Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles show, ’Love’, it is the first nightlife venue associated with one of the five Las Vegas Cirque shows. The four-hundred capacity entertainment environment attracted a mix of celebrities, Vegas insiders and beautiful people. Slash, Perry Farrell, and J.J. Abrams took in the grand opening which featured Cirque performers.
As you enter the ultra lounge, you are surrounded by 60,000 clear colored glass crystal squares along with a non-stop light showing throughout the lounge in tribute to "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."
The lounge offers cutting edge, interactive experiences that create a psychedelic sensory environment and contemporary interpretation of the Beatles era. Revolution is also furnished with authentic 60’s furniture and it has seven interactive tables that transient customer created images that display on the walls. This ultra lounge sends the Beatles message of love; however the atmosphere delivers a modern twist of their era of freedom, self expression and free love.
Throughout the grand opening night, Donovan, a close friend of the Beatles performed songs such as "Colors" and "Yellow Submarine," in which he added two lines to the lyrics. Along with Donovan’s stellar performance, the service was outstanding, Revolution’s signature drinks such as Marshmallow Pie and Strawberry Fields are one of kind beverages that are a must to taste.
Revolution will play a variety of strictly Beatles music, funky lounge remixes, house, rock, electro, new wave and Brit pop. The lounge will be open seven nights a week from 5pm until 5am.
